FAQs, Tips, and Suggestions for having the best time at Tech4All

We are super excited to bring you the Tech4All Happy Hour event on Thursday, November 17, from 6-8 PM, at Impact Makers, 1707 Summit Ave, Suite 201.  Here are some suggestions to help you have the best time possible while at the event

  • Get there right at 6 PM to have the most time to enjoy the event.  We can’t let people in before 6, though, as we have a very limited time to do setup!  We’ll start giving out door prized at 6:15; must be present to win those!
  • Bring along any old computer equipment (anything except CRTs) and donate it to Tech4Troops Project, who will safely delete all your data, the refurb/recycle it to help veterans return to productive civilian lives.
  • Before the event:
    • Bring a compatible smartphone; you can check by using the EZE VR app.
    • Make sure it’s fully charged before the event.
    • Download the Google Cardboard app from your phone’s application store, and look for other Cardboard apps that might interest you. Here is a list of some cool ones we like
    • You might want to make sure you have a QR code scanner enabled on your device so you can more essily download other apps during the event.  I use “RedLaser”
    • Clear out as much memory as you can so you can load more apps.
    • And check your data plan to see if you can use it to download apps at the site – while we’ve beefed up wifi at the site for this event, there will be a lot of people pulling a lot of data, so preloading apps and using your data plan will probably be the fastest way to get playing quickly!

  • Product safety information (from https://store.google.com/product/google_cardboard: Take frequent breaks while using a VR viewer.
