Seeking UR or VCU student with Work Study for Nonprofit Management Internship

IT4Causes prides ourselves on our ability to give meaningful work opportunities to local college students to gain real-world experience while helping local nonprofits.  We’re approved Federal Work Study partners with both VCU and the University of Richmond, and we are currently seeking a FWS eligible student to help us with running our business.  See the job description below, and contact thomas.anderson@IT4Causes.org if you are up to the challenge!

NONPROFIT MANAGEMENT INTERN (FWS)

As a nonprofit management intern, you’ll work with staff and volunteers to help our growing agency in many different ways, including accounting / bookkeeping, marketing and branding, business development, events, and partner agency management. You’ll help us use QuickBooks to manage our finances, and you’ll learn to use Salesforce to manage our pipeline of prospective clients to close deals and increase our impact in the RVA nonprofit community. . Our small staff means you’ll get to know all parts of our business, and because we serve other nonprofits, you’ll get to meet leaders at many other charities in RVA. We’ll provide a ton of networking opportunities, and you’ll work with us to build capacity in not just one agency but in many organizations around the region.

A strong preference will be given to candidates who have prior experience using QuickBooks to manage accounts for a business of any size. We will also consider candidates that have managed or helped managed the books for a business in other tools.

As a startup, we offer high growth potential. Expectations are an average of 10-15 hours per week per school semester, with flexibility to accommodate exams and breaks. Where possible, we prefer to use the same interns for multiple semesters and through the summer.
